The Saskatchewan Music Collection (SMC) includes over 3000 items with a connection to Saskatchewan's musical history (i.e., composer, performer, or subject matter). Formats include: sound recordings, sheet music, scores, books, pamphlets and ephemera. Genres include: popular music, encompassing country, folk, ethnic, pop, rock, alternative, rap, etc., and includes Aboriginal music, religious music, and music by school and community groups.

Sound recordings from the collection are being digitized and made available online through http://smc.usask.ca or http://saskhistoryonline.ca/. In most cases, samples of the album tracks are available in 30-second clips only. To listen to the full sound recordings, please visit the physical collection, which is located in the Education & Music Library, Room 2003, Education Building, University of Saskatchewan. This collection may be browsed and used within the Education & Music Library only. Equipment for listening to the collection are available in the Library.
